External Evaluation of the Early Childhood Personnel Equity Center

External Evaluation of the Early Childhood Personnel Equity Center
A.J. Pappanikou Center for Excellence in Developmental Disabilities Research, Education, and Service

This external evaluation, funded by the US Department of Education, Office of Special Education and Rehabilitative Services, uses a mixed methods, equity-grounded, systems evaluation to determine the extent to which the Early Childhood Personnel Equity Center is successful at implementing the initiatives as well as examining project outcomes.

This is a 5-year evaluation study. The evaluation also incorporates a needs assessment that looks at current and future workforce needs in early childhood education. Sample evaluation questions include:

  1. What are states doing to attract, prepare and graduate scholars from racially, ethnically, and linguistically diverse backgrounds at the associate, bachelor’s, master’s, and doctoral levels and support them to enter and stay in the early childhood profession?
  2. What system barriers are in place to prevent progress on center objectives, and where are they located within the system?
